J K Govt to open dialogue with stone throwers: Mehbooba | KNO

In a major announcement on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir , Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday declared it unequivocally that her government will open talks with the stone pelters .

In a major announcement  on the  eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and  Kashmir , Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday  declared it unequivocally that her government will open talks with the stone pelters .

Mehbooba Mufti  said that her government will explore all possibilities to talk to the stone throwers so that peace could be restored to the Valley that has been undergoing the continuous spells of stone pelting   evoking the retaliation that resulted in the  loss of lives  of civilians.

In fact, she has set an agenda for the Prime Minister who is visiting Udhampur  on Sunday to inaugurate 9.2 Km long  tunnel  on  Jammu- Srinagar highway . But , he is coming against the backdrop of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh having described “ stone pelters  working under the influence of Social media campaign  sponsored by Pakistan.”

Mehbooba was  speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the function at Dak Bunglow Anantnag, Mehbooba said, “The process to talk to stone pelters that got stopped in the past will be resumed again and government will try to resolve issues confronting youth.”

She added that the government would engage youth involved in stone-pelting and will also look into the FIR’s registered against them.

 “Our youth are outstanding in education and sports but they got trapped in the atmosphere that got ruined. We will try to pull them out from this situation and will find a route to secure their future,” she added.
